IVF and fertility treatment in Delhi for NRI couples from the UK, Australia and UAE
Fertility care at THE CLINICS is led by Dr Niti Vijay (DMC 6333), a fertility consultant and gynaecologist with 15+ years of experience. Consultations, injections, monitoring scans and IUI (Level 1 ART) are done at THE CLINICS Green Park, G-32, Green Park Main Market Road. For IVF and ICSI, you visit our partner IVF centre only for egg collection (ovum pickup) and embryo transfer, so once or twice during a cycle; the embryology lab stages are also at the partner centre. Fertility care follows the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021. No success rates are published, no outcome is promised, and sex selection is not offered.
For couples living abroad, much of the early work can happen before you fly: report review, a video consultation and a test plan. The stay in Delhi, usually 4 to 6 weeks, is then timed to your cycle.

How IVF planning works when you live abroad
-
Send your history and reports. Both partners' reports: hormone blood tests (for example AMH, FSH, LH, thyroid and prolactin, if done), pelvic ultrasound reports, any tube test (HSG or laparoscopy), semen analysis, and notes from earlier IUI or IVF cycles, including the medicines and doses used.
-
Video consultation with Dr Niti Vijay (chargeable). She reviews the reports, explains which options suit you (IUI, IVF or ICSI), and tells you which tests can be done where you live and which are better repeated in Delhi.
-
Male fertility review, if needed. Male-factor problems can be assessed by urologist Dr Bipul Agarwal (DMC 81020).
-
Written plan and estimate. You receive the proposed protocol, the expected dates for egg collection and embryo transfer, and an estimate.
-
Delhi visit timed to your cycle. Injections and monitoring scans at THE CLINICS, then egg collection (ovum pickup) and embryo transfer at our partner IVF centre (one or two visits there).
-
Follow-up by video after you return, with your local doctor or GP kept informed.
How long to plan in Delhi
Couples usually plan 4 to 6 weeks in Delhi for an IVF cycle: from the start of ovarian stimulation, through the injections and monitoring scans at THE CLINICS, to egg collection and, if a fresh transfer is planned, embryo transfer. The exact dates depend on how your ovaries respond, and Dr Niti Vijay adjusts the plan as the cycle goes on.
The male partner does not have to stay for the whole cycle. He can freeze a semen sample in advance, so he does not need to be in Delhi on the day of egg collection.
If embryos are frozen, a frozen embryo transfer can be planned on a later trip. Dr Niti Vijay explains which approach suits you before you book flights. IUI needs a shorter stay around ovulation.
For couples in the UK
-
Getting here: non-stop London–Delhi flights take about 9 to 11 hours.
-
Time zone for the video consult: India is 5 h 30 min ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) and 4 h 30 min ahead in British Summer Time. Our afternoon slots (2 pm–9 pm IST) fall between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm in the UK in winter.
-
Records: ask your GP practice or NHS or private fertility clinic for copies of test results, scan reports and cycle summaries, and send them as PDFs before the consult.
-
Before you travel: some baseline tests may be done in the UK and reviewed by video, so your Delhi time is spent on the cycle itself.
-
Back home: early pregnancy care continues with your GP or local clinic; Dr Niti Vijay stays available by video for questions about the cycle.
For couples in Australia
-
Getting here: non-stop flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Delhi take about 13 hours; from other cities, plan for a connection.
-
Time zone: India is 4 h 30 min behind Sydney and Melbourne (5 h 30 min during Australian daylight saving), and 2 h 30 min behind Perth. A 9 am IST slot is 2:30 pm in Sydney in summer and 11:30 am in Perth.
-
Records: collect reports from your GP and fertility clinic, including previous cycle summaries and medicine doses.
-
Planning the trip: with a long flight each way, many couples plan one longer stay for stimulation and egg collection, and a later trip for a frozen embryo transfer if needed.
-
Back home: your GP or obstetrician continues pregnancy care; video follow-up with Dr Niti Vijay can be arranged.
For couples in the UAE
-
Getting here: Dubai or Abu Dhabi to Delhi takes about 3.5 hours, so shorter, repeat visits are practical.
-
Time zone: India is 1 h 30 min ahead of the UAE. Our OPD (9 am–9 pm IST) runs 7:30 am–7:30 pm UAE time, and Saturday clinics fall on the UAE weekend.
-
Records: bring reports from your UAE clinic, including scans and any previous cycle notes.
-
Planning the trip: injections and monitoring scans are done at THE CLINICS, so plan the full 4 to 6 weeks in Delhi for the woman. With a short flight, the male partner can come on a separate short trip to freeze a sample in advance.
-
Back home: follow-up by phone or video, with reports shared digitally for your doctor in the UAE.
Visa and entry
Visa and entry rules are set by the Government of India and can change, so check the official portals before you book flights.

You upload your passport bio page and a letter from the treating hospital in India, on its letterhead, giving your name, nationality, passport number and tentative admission date. Up to two e-Medical Attendant visas can be granted against one e-Medical visa.
-
UAE nationals who have held an Indian e-Visa or regular visa before may be eligible for visa on arrival; check the official portal first.

Foreign nationals and OCI cardholders complete the online e-Arrival card within 72 hours before arrival (boi.gov.in, indianvisaonline.gov.in or the Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app).
THE CLINICS can issue the letter for your medical visa application once your IVF plan is made. Visa decisions are made by the Government of India; we cannot promise approval. More detail: International patients.

Consultations, injections, monitoring and scans are done at THE CLINICS Green Park; you visit our partner IVF centre only for egg collection (ovum pickup) and embryo transfer, so once or twice. Care follows the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021.
Does my husband need to be in Delhi for the whole IVF cycle?
No. He can freeze a semen sample in advance, so he does not need to be in Delhi on the day of egg collection. The first consultation for both partners can be by video (chargeable).
How long do I need to stay in Delhi for IVF?
Couples usually plan 4 to 6 weeks in Delhi for an IVF cycle, from the start of stimulation through egg collection and, if planned, a fresh embryo transfer. A frozen embryo transfer can be planned on a later trip.
Which reports should we send before travelling?
Hormone blood tests, pelvic ultrasound reports, any tube test, a semen analysis, and summaries of earlier IUI or IVF cycles with the medicines and doses used. Dr Niti Vijay tells you which tests need repeating in Delhi.
Do you publish IVF success rates?
No. The chance of pregnancy depends on age, the cause of infertility and other factors, so Dr Niti Vijay discusses your own situation with you. No outcome is promised, and sex selection is illegal in India and is not offered.
Do OCI cardholders need a medical visa for IVF in India?
No. OCI cardholders hold a multiple-entry lifelong visa for visiting India, and Indian passport holders need no visa. British, Australian and UAE passport holders can apply for an e-Medical visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in; THE CLINICS can issue the medical visa letter once your IVF plan is made.
How much does IVF cost for NRI patients?
You receive a written estimate after the consultation and report review, because the cost depends on medicines, whether ICSI or frozen embryo transfer is needed, and any additional procedures. Health insurance generally does not cover IVF.
What happens after we fly home?
Follow-up is by phone or video, and your reports are shared digitally so your GP or local doctor can continue care. Pregnancy care continues with your doctor at home.
