Smile design in Delhi for NRIs from the UK, Australia and UAE
Smile design is a treatment plan, not a single procedure. It brings together treatments such as teeth whitening, veneers and laminates, composite bonding, crowns and clear aligners, chosen for your teeth, gums, bite and face. At THE CLINICS Green Park the plan is previewed before treatment starts. A preview is a plan, not a promise: what can be achieved depends on your teeth, gums, bite and bone.
For NRI patients the key question is timing: some smile plans fit into one trip, while plans that include aligners or implants take months. Your dentist tells you which kind of plan you are looking at before you book flights.

Which smile plans fit into one trip, and which need more
-
Teeth whitening: dentist-supervised whitening, usually one or two visits. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or fillings, and temporary sensitivity is common.
-
Composite bonding or composite veneers: tooth-coloured resin shaped directly on the tooth, usually with little or no enamel removed. Often one or two visits.
-
Porcelain veneers and laminates: usually two to three visits over about two weeks, because the veneers are made after the teeth are prepared. Some enamel is usually removed, and this cannot be undone.
-
Plans that include aligners or implants: these take months. Straightening teeth first can mean less tooth needs to be prepared for veneers, so your dentist may suggest aligners first. See Invisalign for NRIs and dental implants for NRIs.
How the plan is made before you travel
-
Send photos and a short video. Smiling, at rest and side views, plus any recent dental X-rays.
-
Video consultation (chargeable). Tell us what you would like to change. The dentist explains conservative options, such as whitening or bonding, alongside more involved ones.
-
In Delhi: health first. Decay, gum disease or bite problems are treated before cosmetic work.
-
Design and preview. Using photographs and a digital (intraoral) scan of your teeth, a proposed smile is planned and shown to you on screen or as a trial mock-up in your mouth, where suitable.
-
Your decision. You receive a written plan with options, the number of visits and an estimate, and you can ask for changes.
-
Treatment and review, then advice on care at home.
For patients in the UK
-
Getting here: non-stop London–Delhi flights take about 9 to 11 hours.
-
Time zone: India is 5 h 30 min ahead in winter (GMT) and 4 h 30 min ahead in British Summer Time; an afternoon slot in Delhi is a UK morning.
-
Planning around an event: if you want treatment before a wedding or family event in India, contact us early so the plan, preparation and any veneer stage fit your dates.
-
Back home: veneers, bonding and crowns can chip, stain or wear over time. Your UK dentist can carry out routine checks; tell us by WhatsApp if something chips or feels different.
For patients in Australia
-
Getting here: non-stop flights from Sydney and Melbourne take about 13 hours; from other cities, plan for a connection.
-
Time zone: India is 4 h 30 min behind Sydney and Melbourne (5 h 30 min in daylight saving) and 2 h 30 min behind Perth, so a morning slot in Delhi is an afternoon video call in Australia.
-
One-trip plans: with a long flight, many patients choose a plan that can be completed in one stay, such as whitening and bonding, or veneers with the full number of visits planned in advance.
-
Back home: routine checks with your local dentist; video review with your Delhi dentist when needed.
For patients in the UAE
-
Getting here: Dubai or Abu Dhabi to Delhi takes about 3.5 hours, so a plan can be split over two or more shorter trips, for example preparation and temporaries on one trip and final veneers on the next; your dentist tells you whether your plan can be split this way.
-
Time zone: India is 1 h 30 min ahead of the UAE; OPD hours are 7:30 am–7:30 pm UAE time, and Saturday clinics fall on the UAE weekend.
-
Back home: routine checks with your UAE dentist, and WhatsApp us if a veneer or bonding chips.
Visa and entry
Visa and entry rules are set by the Government of India and can change, so check the official portals before you book flights.
-
Indian passport holders (most NRIs) do not need a visa.
-
OCI cardholders hold a multiple-entry lifelong visa for visiting India, so no separate medical visa is needed.
-
British, Australian and UAE passport holders can apply for an e-Medical visa online, only at indianvisaonline.gov.in. Apply at least 4 days before arrival; applications open up to 120 days ahead. You upload your passport bio page and a letter from the treating hospital in India, on its letterhead, giving your name, nationality, passport number and tentative admission date. Up to two e-Medical Attendant visas can be granted against one e-Medical visa.
-
UAE nationals who have held an Indian e-Visa or regular visa before may be eligible for visa on arrival; check the official portal first.
-
Foreign nationals and OCI cardholders complete the online e-Arrival card within 72 hours before arrival (boi.gov.in, indianvisaonline.gov.in or the Indian Visa Su-Swagatam app).
THE CLINICS can issue a medical visa letter for dental treatment at THE CLINICS Green Park once your plan is made. Visa decisions are made by the Government of India; we cannot promise approval. More detail: International patients.
Things to know before you decide
-
It is your choice. Cosmetic dentistry is optional.
-
Some steps cannot be undone. Porcelain veneers and crowns need enamel removal, which is permanent.
-
Restorations need maintenance and may need repair or replacement over time.
-
Results vary with your teeth, gums, bite, habits and home care.
What affects the cost
It depends on the number of teeth treated and the treatments chosen, for example whitening, composite bonding or porcelain veneers. A written estimate is shared after examination. Cosmetic dental treatment is usually not covered by health insurance; check your policy. All major credit cards are accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Can smile design be done in one trip to Delhi?
Sometimes. Whitening and composite bonding often take one or two visits, and porcelain veneers usually take two to three visits over about two weeks. Plans that include aligners or implants take months. Your dentist tells you which applies before you book flights.
Can I see the planned smile before treatment?
In most cases, yes. A digital preview or a trial mock-up shows the proposed shape. It is a plan, not a promise, because the final result depends on your teeth, gums and bite.
What should I send before the video consultation?
Clear photos of your smile (front and side), a short video of you talking and smiling, and any recent dental X-rays. Tell us your travel dates and any event you are planning for.
Will veneers damage my natural teeth?
Porcelain veneers usually need a thin layer of enamel removed, and this cannot be reversed. Composite bonding needs little or no enamel removal. Your dentist explains how much preparation your plan needs.
Who will look after my veneers when I go back?
Your local dentist can do routine checks and cleaning. Veneers and bonding can chip or stain over time; WhatsApp us (+91 9217381353) if something changes.
Where is smile design done?
At THE CLINICS Green Park, G-32, Ground Floor, Green Park Main Market Road, New Delhi 110016, Mon–Sat 9 am–9 pm, by appointment.
How much does smile design cost for NRI patients?
It depends on the number of teeth and the treatments chosen. A written estimate is shared after examination; a video consultation helps narrow the options before you travel.
